MisterMaggie

Maggie’s story is similar to many of the felines that arrive at the Arizona Humane Society but many cats aren’t so lucky. At the age of one, Maggie was forced to not only fend for herself on the dangerous streets but also protect and care for her litter of kittens; a difficult task without food or water. Maggie and her babies wouldn’t have lasted much longer in the scorching summer heat, and thankfully a Good Samaritan found them in a parking lot and brought them all to the shelter.

Dehydrated, malnourished and sick Maggie and her babies were sent to a foster home where Maggie was nursed back to health and her kittens could grow. Now, a month later, Maggie is ready to start a new chapter in life and find a forever home where she can spend her life as an indoor housecat.

Maggie’s foster family says she is a bit shy at first and will need some time to warm up to her new surroundings, but once she feels comfortable she becomes an affectionate purring machine. She loves to cuddle, be held close, and occasionally play with fun toys. She will need time to adjust to a home with children and other pets, but with her easygoing personality and a proper introduction she could learn to adjust to even the most boisterous household.

She is available NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion located at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. Throughout the month of July cat adopters can take home a kitty for only half of the adoption fee. Maggie’s adoption fee is just $10 since she is a member of our exclusive Lonely Hearts club. This fee includes her spay surgery, vaccines, a colorful collar, a pet carrier, an AHS I.D. tag and a follow-up veterinary exam. For more information about this pet, please call (602) 997-7586 ext. 1045 and ask for animal ID number A302223 or log on to www.azhumane.org.

Please note: This pet might have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter, however, the Arizona Humane Society has dozens more wonderful pets that might also need loving homes. Please take a moment to meet some of the other homeless dogs, cats and other companion animals at the shelter!
